Step into Spring: Kwinana's Community Walking Challenge

This September, we are inviting residents to Step into Spring – a fun, free and community-driven walking challenge to help you move more, feel better, and connect with your local area. The challenge starts on 1st September and will run for the entire month.

Whether you’re hitting the pavement solo, with a friend, or joining a group, this is your chance to boost your steps, share your journey, and win great prizes along the way.

Why walking? According to the Heart Foundation, walking for just 30 minutes a day can:

  • Reduce your risk of heart disease by up to 35%

  • Help prevent type 2 diabetes, some cancers, and mental health issues

  • Improve sleep, mood, energy, and mobility

  • Support weight management and bone health

It’s simple, low impact, and one of the best ways to improve your health – and now’s the perfect time to start!

What’s involved?
✅ Set a walking goal that suits you
✅ Track your weekly steps
✅ Upload photos from your walks
✅ Suggest your favourite local walking routes
✅ Go in the draw to win great prizes!

Whether you walk to work, around the block, through a local park or with a group – every step counts.

Need help tracking your steps?
No smartwatch or app? No worries!
Pedometers will be available to collect from Tuesday 20 August at our City Admin Building - complete the application below and we will be in touch!
