How many car bays will there be?
There will be a total of 39 car bays in the carpark (including 4 ACROD bays) and a further 15 car bays on the Medina Green side of Pace Road. The carpark in front of the Medina Tavern will be unchanged.
The Medina shopping precinct was originally designed as the Kwinana Town Centre and this reflected the high number of parking bays presently there. In the 70's the shopping precinct was changed to a Neighbourhood Centre which does not require as much parking.
Will the trees be damaged?
The main reason the upgrade was needed is for the tree roots to be protected and ensure the longevity of the trees. The concept design chosen fully protects the trees.
What additional benefits could the community expect to see?
The community can expect to see street furniture, accessible, connected footpaths and pram ramps and additional ACROD parking.
What will happen to the RSL Medina Market?
The Market will remain on the Green every Saturday morning until construction starts. During the carpark works the Markets will be relocated to the public space in front of the Medina Tavern.

What sort of safety measures would be in place?
The carpark upgrade will address safety issues using Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles, including eliminating hiding spots and dead-ends, adequate lighting, clear view lines for passive surveillance and encouraging increased community use throughout the day with suitable co-located activation.
Where do I park while the carpark is under construction?
Parking is available on Pace Road and at the Medina Tavern and Hall Carparks. If you are shopping at Kattlers Deli you can also use the service lane at the back of the shops (look for the blue signs).
Is the ANZAC Day service still being held.
Yes, the ANZAC Day Service is being held at the RSL Memorial. The carpark will be used as normal. Parking is available on Pace Road and in the Medina Hall and Kwinana Senior Citizen Centre carpark.
