Do you live in the City of Kwinana and love the place you call home?

If you’re passionate about beautifying your street, supporting native flora and fauna, and helping create a safer, more connected community, this opportunity is for you.

Love Where You Live invites residents to transform their front gardens and verges into thriving native gardens enhancing our neighbourhoods, boosting biodiversity, and strengthening community pride across the City.

The Love Where You Live Subsidy Program opens 1 April 2026 and runs until 1 June 2026.

One subsidy claim is available per household.

New for 2026, we’re offering two tiers of funding for those extra‑enthusiastic gardeners ready to take their patch to the next level.

Tier 1 (Up to $400 funding)

  • Register and attend an in-person Native Verge Gardening Workshop being held in April. *Attendance at a workshop is essential to claim the Tier 1 funding.
  • Submit your garden design through the grants portal for approval - Access to smarty grants for Teir 1 will be given to workshop attendees after workshop has been attended.
  • Once approved, make your garden improvements
  • Submit your receipts and after photos through the grants portal

Bookings to the workshops are essential. Workshops are being held on Monday 13th April at 5:30 pm to 6:30pm and Friday 17th April 5:30 pm to 6:30pm, click the date to register.

Please bring a minimum of 2 photos of your front garden to the session (printed or on mobile).

Tier 2 (Up to $200 funding)

  • No requirement to attend a workshop
  • Submit your garden design through the grants portal for approval
  • Once approved, make your garden improvements
  • Submit your receipts and after photos through the Smarty Grants portal

How to Claim Your Subsidy:

  • Decide which tier of funding you want to pursue and check eligibility and availability of gardening work shops
  • Remember to take your before photos
  • Happy gardening!
